'Washington Crossing' - Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon
Carmel ValleyShipping calculated at checkout.
Created to honor America’s 250th anniversary, this Cabernet Sauvignon draws on one of the most enduring images in our history: George Washington crossing the Delaware. It is a scene that speaks to courage, sacrifice, and the kind of resolve that carries a nation through uncertain moments.
That spirit made this bottle worth commemorating.
Sourced from the historic Massa Vineyard in Carmel Valley, Monterey County, this 2019 Old Vine Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon comes from vines originally planted in 1973 — a vineyard with its own place in American history. Wines from this site were even served at George Bush’s inauguration, giving this bottle an added sense of heritage and occasion.
In the glass, it shows both depth and composure. Layers of black currant and ripe blackberry lead, with notes of cedar, warm spice, and a touch of earth shaped by these mature vines. The palate is full-bodied and steady, with dark cherry, plum, and hints of cocoa adding richness, supported by firm, polished tannins that carry through to a long, smooth finish with lingering dark fruit and subtle oak.
